The Fieldhead Hotel

The ambience and traditional warmth of The Fieldhead are particularly evident - the comfortable lounge furnished with quality sofas and wing back chairs, the use of table lamps and picture lights give the room a warm glow at night and a perfect place to relax at any time. The real feature must be the huge bay window, an original part of the house and constructed with window seating to give a quite remarkable vista across Looe Bay and Looe Island. This one feature makes a tremendous impact with first time guests and is a fond memory for our regular visitors.

Just off the lounge is the cocktail bar, well equipped and comfortable serving a full range of beverages. It has French doors out to a large balcony with seating and into the gardens. The pictures, plans, drawings and bric-a-brac in the bar are mainly with a golfing theme. Throughout the building the pictures, ornaments and collections highlight the fact that The Fieldhead is proudly operated by the Owners and indeed is their family home.

Virtually all the bedrooms have tremendous sea views - a perfect way to start or end the day is by just gazing out on the ever changing views and colours. Every bedroom is ensuite with bath and shower, and most have recently been redecorated and upgraded. Colour TV, radio, direct dial telephone, tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities, iron and ironing boards are standard to all rooms. Four superior rooms offer more space, and are expensively decorated and equipped. Two of these have balconies to fully enjoy the surroundings.

The Fieldhead is set in 1½ acres of gardens and terraces mainly planted with tropical palms, agaves and Mediterranean plants which provide a most attractive setting for reading, relaxing or watching the ever-changing activity out at sea.

The large swimming pool is set in the cliff above the garden with its own sun terrace and gardens. It is heated and is normally open from Mid-May to mid-September depending on the prevailing weather. This particular area is a veritable sun trap with again wonderful sea views. With the palm trees and garden below it is easy for the visitor to think they are in a Mediterranean location!
